試験のせいで学校では教育と書籍の予算が削られる
Exam costs force schools to cut spending on teaching and books from The Guardian
イギリスでは，試験のせいで学校では教育と書籍の予算が削られることが問題になっているらしいです．
Schools are being forced to transfer money from teaching,
books and equipment to fund "out of control" exam costs of £380m a
year, headteachers warned yesterday.
学校は年間380,000,000ポンド(760億円)もの”コントロールできない”試験のコストを捻出するために，教育や書籍，施設の資金を削減することを強いられている，と校長は昨日警告した．
The Secondary Heads Association said the price tag,
inflated partly by a doubling in exam fees in just four years, was
evidence of a bloated examinations system.
中等学校校長協会(自信ない)は，試験料が部分的には4年間の間に2倍に膨らんだことにふれて，(試験の)値札が膨れた試験システムの証拠であると述べている．
Some sixth form colleges are having to spend as much as
£400,000 a year on fees and running costs for AS and A-levels, making
exams the second biggest budget item after staffing.
いくつかの6年制大学ではASやA-levels(これわからない)のために，授業料と運営費から400,000ポンド(8000万円)を費やしている．試験のための費用は，人件費の次に大きな予算なのである．
With no increase in government funding to subsidise
spiralling costs, schools are having to raid other budgets, the union
warned.
