Bennett(1980)がformalなはなしを中心にしているのに対し,本論文では実際の問題への応用を中心にしている.

というわけで,特定の問題について記述することと,hypergame分析の一般的な実装について考えていくと.

particular study, and secondly, to discuss the implications for
hypergame analysis in general. There is not space to consider either of
these in much detail: the latter set of issues are discussed more fully

The shipping crisis was clearly a very complex problem.
Whilst it might have been theoretically possible to model it formally
as a whole using hypergames, in practice this would have been unwieldy
and was anyway beyond our resources. The study therefore proceeded
instead in two phases. In phase 1, the hypergame approach was used in a
general way. This involved the identification of a number of
interactions that appeared key components of the whole system, the main
parties in each and their possible broad options and aims. Rather than
a formal model as such, our aim here was to arrive at a broad, but
structured, picture of the problem, seen in hypergame terms. Then, in
phase 2, some of these interactions were modelled formally in more
specific terms, though their links with others were still borne in
mind.

It seems true in general that problem-structuring will be
theory-directed. Because of the view of the world it suggests --- as a
series of 'games' in which the players may have differing beliefs as to
what the 'games' are --- the hypergame approach tends to lead to a
particular way of looking at the problem.

これは現状のゲーム理論の機能とほぼ同等で,概念レベルで拡張されているのにこのパワフルさを持っているのは,確かに魅力的なアプローチであるな.
